The body is a self-healing, self-regulating mechanism. If the body is not healing itself, whether it be from an injury, cold or flu, diabetes, cancer or an autoimmune disorder, our experience tells us that interference has been created within the autonomic nervous system, causing the body to spend too much time in survival mode and not enough time in healing mode. The B.E.S.T. procedure focuses on finding and eliminating the primary cause of neurological and energetic interference as opposed to concentrating on reducing or eliminating symptoms.
Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) OR Understanding Survival Mode & Healing Mode
The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is the subconscious part of the nervous system or the part of the nervous system that runs the body without our having to think about it. Examples are digesting food, regulating blood pressure, maintaining chemical balance, growing our hair, fingernails, etc. All of these functions simply take place without any conscious direction on our part.
There are two divisions of the ANS: (1) the sympathic division and (2) the parasympathetic division. Many of us know the sympathetic division as Fight or Flight. This part of the ANS allows us to properly handle emergency situations by enabling us to make a quick decision in the moment: are we going to stay and fight or are we going to run? This built-in mechanism is necessary for our survival.
When facing an emergency, it is the natural functioning of the sympathetic division to automatically shut down every activity within the body that is not necessary for survival. In other words, digestion, cellular repair work and replenishing of the immune system are temporarily shut down as muscles are locked in tight, ready to fight. In our practice, we call this defense physiology or survival mode.
Any time that we are not facing an emergency situation, the parasympathetic division of the ANS should be running the functioning of our bodies. This means that muscles should relax and proper digesting, cellular repair and immune system replenishment should be under way. We call this the healing mode.
Neurological Interference
When thinking of emergency situations, we generally tend to think of car accidents, someone threatening us physically, or maybe encountering a bear or other large animal while hiking or camping in the woods. However, other situations that we tend to think of as normal daily activities can also serve to switch the ANS from healing mode (parasympathetic) to survival mode (sympathetic). Some of these activities include difficult relationships, unsatisfying job situations, chemical imbalances, low self-esteem and even fear of speaking our truth.
What we often do not realize is that the same physiology takes place within the body once the ANS switches to the sympathetic division regardless of whether a real life emergency threatening our well-being caused the switch or if it was caused by an emotional emergency. In other words, digestion, cellular repair and replenishment of the immune system all temporarily cease when the ANS is in sympathetic mode, regardless of what caused it to move from healing mode to survival mode. These types of stresses are what we call neurological interference. They interfere with the ANS operating in healing mode (parasympathetic) the majority of the time.

Energetic Interference
Whether or not we completely understand the functioning of the brain and the nervous system, we all have a basic understanding that communication takes place within the body. This communication is directed by the brain, and the messages travel along the nervous system. These messages are sent through the nervous system via electrical pulses. Our heart beat, hearing, sight, muscle movement, etc. are all produced by electrical currents passing along the nerves.
It is also undisputed that a magnetic field exists wherever there is an electrical current and that everything is basically made up electricity and is, therefore, surrounded by an electromagnetic field. For in-depth information on the electromagnetic field with regard to the human body, please read our web page titled The Energy Field.
Magnetic fields have two polarities, which can be felt as pulses within the body. B.E.S.T. functions on the premise that this “life-force” or nerve energy flows freely through a well-balanced body when the pulses throughout the body are synchronized. Thus, the opposite of this being that energetic interference in the transmission of nerve energy exists when pulses in different parts of the body are not synchronized.
B.E.S.T. Treatments
Over 40 years of research and clinical experience has shown that there are certain stress categories that we tend to get stuck in, causing the body to spend an unnecessary and unhealthy amount of time in survival mode (sympathetic).
Dr. Andrew James Giordano has been specially trained to identify which stress category is causing neurological interference within the body and to work with each individual to remove such interference. Their training also enables them to palpate and re-establish synchronization of the magnetic pulses. Once these interference’s have been removed, the body, providing no further interference sets in, is given the best opportunity for it to function optimally as a self-healing, self-regulating mechanism.
The Six Essentials
In addition to regular treatments for the purpose of keeping the nervous system free from interference, the choices you make every day in six key areas also play a major role in your remaining free from interference. Please read about these areas in detail on our web page titled The Six Essentials.
